Claire Kincade: Still Lifes

September 7 - October 19, 2024

In the rear gallery, we present the still-lives of Claire Kincade, a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Her contemplative, expressive work has been described by Aubrey Levinthal as an “antidote,” radical in its “loving restraint… respect for the mystery that unfolds in process and… deference for the maker’s hand.” Kincade has most recently shown with the Gross McCleaf Gallery in Pennsylvania, with two solo exhibitions in 2021 and 2016, as well as group shows with Cerulean Art and Noba Artspace, among others. She was the recipient of the Louis S Ware Travel Scholarship in 2012, as well as the Gamblin Paint Prize in 2011. This is her first time showing with SHFAP.
